"Ayurveda offers an intuitive way of living that is in harmony with our natural state of balance and our surrounding environment."

THE PRINCIPLES OF AYURVEDA

Ayurveda recognizes the primal elements of space, air, fire, water and earth exist in all things including our physical beings and minds.  These primal elements manifest themselves as Vata (Air + Ether), Pitta (Fire + Water) and Kapha (Earth + Water).  Although all beings are made up Vata, Pitta and Kapha, it is the unique proportions of these forces that are unique in each of us, with one or two forces dominating.  These forces are called doshas in Sanskrit.  Ayurveda recognizes that health is achieved when a person’s doshas are in a natural state of balance (Prakruti).  Due to environmental factors including living in a high stressful society with constant stimulation, lifestyle choices (including, diet, exercise and habits) and undergoing emotional experiences, our natural state of being often times becomes unbalanced. Ayurveda is aimed at helping an individual re-establish and maintain a balanced state of being through diet, daily regiment, herbs, yoga, meditation and pranayama or breathing exercises.

How can Ayurveda benefit your life?

Ayurveda offers an intuitive way of living that is in harmony with our natural state of balance and our surrounding environment.  It offers a gentle and soft approach to healing and rebalancing causing people to include Ayurvedic practices in their life even after it has addressed their initial health concern.  It can address manifested health ailments, center and balance moods, rejuvenate the body all at the same time providing shifts in perspective, thought and consciousness.  In that way, it goes well beyond an allopathic system of healing , which often times simply treats specific, isolated symptoms.

When we live in a way that honors our original doshic make-up, we are taking conscious and intentional acts to optimize our well-being. In that way, Ayurveda is empowering. Understanding your own personal doshic make-up provides guidance on optimizing your mind, body and spirit through diet, daily and seasonal regiments.  Understanding your own personal doshic make-up offers insight into your thought and behavioral patterns and how best to let go of those patterns that do not serve you.  Understanding your own personal doshic make-up allows you to take efforts now to prevent health ailments down the road.

This website, as well as our offerings, are intended on sharing the beautiful wisdom of our ancestors with you to allow you take to gain control of your health and optimize your well-being.
