Ayurveda Cooking Immersion

Food as Medicine
In Ayurveda, food is far more than fuel—it is medicine, consciousness, and communication. Every ingredient carries the essence of the five elements and has the power to either balance or disturb the body's natural harmony. When prepared with intention and purity, food becomes a direct expression of universal intelligence, nourishing not just the body, but the mind and spirit. In today’s world of processed, modified, and chemically-altered foods, our systems are often left confused—leading to imbalance, inflammation, and disease. This course is an invitation to return to food in its highest form: as a sacred, healing force. You'll learn how to prepare meals that align with your dosha, restore inner balance, and awaken the body's innate capacity to heal—one conscious bite at a time.

Course Curriculum
In this course, we will explore how to cook meals that are balancing to the 3 doshas, how to recognize imbalances and how to achieve balance through foods. Not only will you leave this course with an understanding of Ayurvedic principles to achieve optimal health, you will strengthen your awareness and connection to your mind/body through daily yoga asanas, controlled breathing, meditation and other mindful practices. By increasing this awareness, you will be better able to identify imbalances and allow your intuition to guide your cooking.
This course is beneficial for those seeking empowerment in their own healing journeys and also for professional chefs as you will learn how to make Ayurvedic meals that incorporate the 6 tastes, healing spices and sattvic ingredients.
Your body and mind will become organically in-tune with the rhythms of nature as we explore these topics in the serene and tranquil setting of Pura Veda Gurukulam, a living example of Yoga & Ayurveda in the blue zone of Guanacaste, Costa Rica. This program is intentionally designed to immerse yourself in a high-vibrational and sattvic space to engage in this transformational journey with an open heart.
