About The Event

Please contact us to schedule a private or group teacher training. Retreats are limited to six students.

"Yoga is not something we do. Yoga is our being. Pura Veda gurukulam was created to provide a living example of Yoga and Ayurveda so that students have an opportunity to exist in this way of being. The formalized education is not separate from daily living. And in this way, we can be true to the original teachings of yoga. In the past, students learned yoga from living with their guru (teacher). Teachings were delivered in dialogue and further reinforced by the experiences in daily living." ~Acharya Sonia Kaur

Our Yoga Teacher Training is 200 hours and spread out over 23 days. This program goes beyond the minimum requirements suggested by Yoga Alliance and will allow participants who successfully complete the program are eligible to register with Yoga Alliance.

Our teacher training course has been co-created by an Ayurvedic Health Counselor to include an understanding of Ayurveda. Ayurveda is Yoga’s sister science and the intention was for them to be practiced side by side. These two sciences complement each other and the benefits of combining them are exponential. The understanding of Ayurveda would also help build a deeper and dynamic yoga practice.

This course will include high prana foods prepared in the Ayurvedic Kitchen that is conducive to a clear and pure mind (sattva). In addition your training will include Mindfulness and our Mindful Archery class.

YogiBeYoga Teacher Training Sample Schedule

Since Yoga is a very inward experience, the ultimate purpose resting in “samadhi”, part of the day in the morning until theory classes, will be in silence.  This will allow students to experience this deep inward experience during the morning practice.  As you experience the benefits of Yoga, your body will naturally awaken to this schedule.  In the beginning, as long as you can make the commitment of waking up in the morning and coming to our Yoga/meditation space, the practice itself will energize your body. Since we are located 1.5 km from the beautiful Pacha Mama beach, only accessible via walking trails, some of our class time may happen at the beach.
