Our YogiBeYoga and Ayurveda Teacher Training is a 200 Hour Yoga Alliance Registered Teacher Training that is built on the philosophy of Living Yoga vs Teaching Yoga (Please see our article Living vs Teaching Yoga: Why Embodiment Is the Heart of Our Gurukulam?)
This program was crafted to guide students on a journey to embody their experience with yoga in everyday life, moment to moment.

The Set: Jungle & Beach
I was searching for a location that would support the immersive experience of this 200 hour training and spoke with some of my cousins in India. Many of them had similar conclusions, that it is very difficult to get away from the busy-ness, sounds and distractions that India presents. And while this provides an entirely different cultural experience, San Juanillo offers a stillness that supports tuning into the the subtleties of our awareness. And so we chose to bring India to Costa Rica by creating our center here.
Pura Veda Gurukulam is set in San Juanillo, Costa Rica, 30 minutes north from the commercialized and touristy town of Nosara. This small local town provides the best of both worlds, access to Nosara without being immersed in its busy-ness. Furthermore, our center is surrounded by jungle while still being only a mile from 2 beautiful beaches, imagine the nourishment of the jungle contrasted with the expansiveness and fluidity of the ocean.
Welcome to Our Family
By supporting our trainings, you are supporting the only Indian and woman owned yoga and ayurveda school in Costa Rica.
Our gurukulam was created and is still run by our family. It started as an unschooling and homeschooling project for our 2 boys to create in the physical dimension our philosophical understandings of living yoga and ayurveda. Fast forward, ten years, our boys are 20 and 18 years old and are very much part of our gurukulam, our trainings and the day to day activities of our school. By coming to our center, you are coming to live with our family.
What is or should I ask what is NOT the Ayurveda Component of this Training?
There is no singular ayurvedic component of this training, ayurveda and yoga are sister sciences. Our entire training is immersed in both ayurveda and yoga, from the daily schedule called dinacharya, to presenting ayurveda notions in different systems of the body in anatomy, these two sciences are merged as one. There is not one topic that is introduced during the yoga teacher training that is not further elaborated through the lens of ayurveda. And these presentations provide different perspectives and lenses to evaluate each concept, allows for deeper understanding, which in the end complement each other. While other trainings provide one or two ayurveda workshops, ayurveda is fully immersed into the entirety of our training from the design to the presentation and also involved in every topic that is presented.
In an age where certification is often seen as the goal, we’re offering something different—something deeper. At YogiBeYoga, our Yoga and Ayurveda Teacher Training isn’t just about acquiring techniques or memorizing scripts. It’s about living the teachings so fully that they become part of who you are—because we believe:
You can only teach what you truly live.
Living Yoga vs Teaching Yoga
To teach yoga is to guide others through shapes, cues, and breath. To live yoga is to move through life with awareness, presence, and devotion. It’s the difference between talking about embodiment and actually being embodied.
Living yoga means the practice doesn’t end when you step off the mat. It informs how you relate to others, how you digest your food, how you respond to challenges, and how you listen to the quiet voice within.
At YogiBeYoga, we focus not just on sequencing and Sanskrit—but on how these ancient tools transform your inner landscape. Our training isn’t just about what you will teach. It’s about who you become.
Ayurveda: Yoga’s Sister Science, Fully Lived
Ayurveda is more than dosha and diet. It’s the science of living in harmony—moment by moment, season by season.
To live Ayurveda means waking with the rhythms of the sun, aligning with your inner cycles, and choosing nourishment that supports your full expression. It’s a deeply personal, intuitive path—one that reconnects you to nature’s intelligence within and around you.
In our training, Ayurveda isn’t an add-on—it’s a foundation. It teaches you how to live in balanced relationship with your body, your environment, your purpose. When you embody Ayurveda, you can guide others with authenticity, because you’re not just reciting theory—you’re living in alignment.
Honoring the Gurukulam Tradition
In the ancient Gurukulam system, students didn’t just learn about yoga. They lived with their teacher. They cooked, cleaned, meditated, practiced, and grew—together. Wisdom was transmitted not just through lectures, but through presence, example, and daily rhythm.
Our training honors this lineage by creating an immersive, integrated space. It’s not about retreating from life—it’s about weaving these practices into life itself. We gather not as passive students, but as a living community—each person bringing their own fire to the collective flame.
This is yoga in its truest form: a lived relationship between teacher, student, and the sacred.
What You’ll Walk Away With
By the end of this journey, you won’t just have a Yoga Alliance 200 Hour Teacher Training certificate. You’ll have a deeper understanding of yourself. You’ll have embodied practices you can return to for life. And you’ll be prepared to teach from a place of presence.
You'll leave:
Grounded in your own daily practice
In tune with seasonal and personal rhythms through Ayurveda
Capable of facilitating spaces that are authentic, healing, and transformative
Rooted in tradition, yet responsive to modern life
The Path Isn’t Learned. It’s Lived.
We’re not here to produce performers. We’re here to cultivate guides—those who walk the path and invite others to walk beside them.
If you’re ready to step beyond surface-level learning and into embodied transformation…If you’re seeking to live yoga and Ayurveda so fully that teaching becomes a natural extension…Then you’re ready for the YogiBeYoga and Ayurveda Teacher Training.
Because living is the true teaching.
